Network Rail Property has welcomed a new Redemption Roasters offer at Victoria station, a first for its booming retail portfolio. The new unit boasts 235 sq ft of prime space.
With 11 locations across London, Redemption Roasters provides a variety of high-quality tea and coffee and a selection of pastries for those looking to grab a hot drink on the go.
The opening of Redemption Roasters at London Victoria marks the brand’s first store in a rail station.
Redemption Roasters was launched in 2017 by co-founders Max Dubiel and Ted Rosner, and the business employs former prisoners and offers barista and coffee technician training programmes. The training is provided both inside and outside of prison, and all coffee used by Redemption Roasters is roasted at HMP The Mount. Before launching Redemption Roasters, co-founder Max Dubiel co-founded Black Sheep Coffee, one of the UK’s fastest growing independent coffee chains.
The last 18 months has seen Network Rail proactively evolve the retail mix across its 19 managed stations by introducing new brands and experiences. This strategy is paying off with Network Rail Property achieving £240.5m in total retail sales during Q3, a +7 percent uplift (covering October to December 2024). During Q3 2024, 24 retail units opened across Network Rail’s 19 managed stations.
Hamish Kiernan, Commercial Director, Property at Network Rail, comments: “Passengers across our managed stations have asked for an exciting food and beverage offering, and we’re thrilled to welcome Redemption Roasters to Victoria station, marking its first entry into travel retail. London Victoria is a prime location for retailers looking to expand their brand and deliver for the 40million passengers using the station each year.”
Max Dubiel, co-founder at Redemption Roasters, comments: “With 11 shops across London, we are excited to be opening our first store in a railway station; with a high volume of footfall, we’re looking forward to extending our social impact with this new store opening.”
