UK service station owner and operator, Extra MSA, has opened a new wagamama restaurant at Beaconsfield Services (M40 J2), marking the popular chain’s motorway service station debut.

Designed to support customers at every stage of their journey, the new restaurant will bring wagamama’s fresh, Asian-inspired menu to millions of motorists and passengers each year, meeting growing demand for high-quality dining options on the go.

In partnership with TRGC, leading UK travel hub hospitality operator, wagamama is expanding its presence across UK travel hubs through a new format focused on travel. In addition to Beaconsfield Services, the restaurant will also open at Extra MSA’s Cobham Services (M25 J9/10) in the coming months. These announcements follow the opening of wagamama ‘on the move’ at Heathrow Terminal 5.

This new opening follows a number of investments that have been made to strengthen Beaconsfield Services this year. These include Extra MSA’s partnership with Spirit Energy which saw the installation of 840 solar PV panels, one of the largest single-site solar projects at a UK motorway service area, and the expansion of its EV charging infrastructure via continued partnerships with IONITY and GRIDSERVE.

Tom Dobson, CEO at Extra MSA Group, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome the first wagamama to the UK motorway service network at our Beaconsfield location. At Extra, going the extra mile means continually bringing exciting, high-quality food and drink brands to our customers, often for the first time on the motorway network. This opening is a great example of that commitment. We look forward to giving travellers even more choice through fresh, convenient dining options that continue to raise the bar.”

Jonathan Knight, CEO of TRGC, said: “We’re really proud to have opened the first wagamama at a UK motorway service area. It’s a great milestone in our long-standing partnership with the brand and a strong example of what we can achieve by working closely with Extra MSA.

Beaconsfield is an important next step for wagamama as we take the brand beyond airports and into more UK travel hubs, giving customers access to great, freshly prepared food wherever their journey takes them.

It’s a really exciting opportunity, and with Cobham following in the coming months, we’re looking forward to building on this momentum.”
