Lina Stores is delighted to announce that it will open in South Kensington this Spring. Located on the corner of Exhibition Road and Thurloe Place, the 140-cover all-day restaurant will serve breakfast in the mornings and its signature menu of fresh, handmade pasta, antipasti, secondi and dolci for lunch and dinner. Situated in the heart of Brompton Design District, home to leading global design brands and the V&A Museum, the sixth Lina Stores restaurant in London will bring its celebrated Italian dining experience to one of the world’s most important cultural quarters. The newest member of the South Kensington Estates network, Lina Stores will occupy a 2,850 sq ft space in a prime location moments from South Kensington Underground Station and walking distance from the V&A Museum, Natural History Museum and Design Museum.

Upon entering the restaurant, diners will be greeted with a unique interpretation of Lina Stores’ signature palette of greens, warm timber woods and terrazzo flooring. Inspired by the restaurants and espresso bars of Milan and Rome, the central open-theatre kitchen will provide a view of the chefs at work, while the connecting bar will offer the perfect spot for a quick espresso during the day or a classic Negroni at night. The light-filled dining room will house plush green booths as well as marble tables with mismatched Bentwood chairs further into the restaurant. Signature opaline globe lighting inspired by the original delicatessen, vintage Tuscan credenzas and cabinets that act as waiter stations, and a collection of eclectic artworks will complete the experience.

Lina Stores Kensington will be open from breakfast through to dinner every day of the week. The menu will start in the mornings with savoury and sweet offerings, such as Maple Roasted Granola with Yoghurt and Berries, Truffle Scrambled Eggs with Toasted Sourdough and Tuscan Sausage & Fried Egg Panini that are served alongside rich espresso and freshly squeezed juices. Moving into lunch and dinner, the menu will feature Lina Stores’ signature selection of antipasti, beloved pasta dishes, renowned secondi and indulgent dolci. Its much-loved fresh, handmade pasta will be at the heart of the experience, with both signature dishes and new offerings making an appearance, including Lumache with Broad Beans, Guanciale & Mint, Jerusalem Artichoke Agnolotti with Lemon Burnt Butter, and Mafaldine alla Carbonara. Additions to the antipasti menu will include Stracciatella with Escarole and Anchovy served with Carta da Musica, and Mussel & ‘Nduja Marinara on Grilled Focaccia, while dolci will include Rhubarb, Almond & Brown Butter Cake with Zabaglione Cream and a refreshing Lemon Meringata.

Complementing the menu will be a succinct wine list consisting of organic and biodynamic wines from all corners of Italy, including the great winemaker regions of Piedmont, Tuscany, Campania and Veneto alongside classic Italian aperitivi and cocktails served from the feature bar.

The exterior will be recognisably Lina Stores with its signature green exterior and mosaic detailing. A 22-cover wrap-around terrace will run alongside the restaurant and an additional 28-cover terrace will be on the beautiful square right in front of the restaurant, where diners can enjoy a little slice of Italy, whilst observing the bustle of South Kensington.

“We are incredibly excited to bring Lina Stores to South Kensington this Spring. It’s both a popular destination for those visiting the city but also has a strong sense of local community, and the neighbourhood therefore feels like the perfect location for our first restaurant in West London, and we’re thrilled to welcome guests old and new to our new home.” says Masha Rener, Head Chef of Lina Stores.

Speaking ahead of the opening, Karl Elliott, Head of Asset and Property Management, South Kensington Estates said: “We are delighted to welcome Lina Stores to Brompton Design District. The arrival of a new Lina Stores all day restaurant is a coup for the District. Visitors and locals alike will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique authentic experience of Lina Stores’ delicious menu which adds to the wealth of dining options in South Kensington.

As a destination for design lovers this corner of South Kensington and Knightsbridge continues to draw discerning design conscious clients and lovers of culture from around the world. The establishment of Brompton Design District, part of the annual London Design Festival, recognises the area as a place where people come together to share, enjoy and learn about design in its broadest sense; including through culture, fashion and food. Lina Stores is now part of the District family and we look forward to toasting this new arrival when the doors open later this year.”

The newest partner to join South Kensington Estates network, the White Rabbit Projects backed company secured the lease through Davis Coffer Lyons who advised the landlords on this and other lettings in the area regarding new tenants.
