British menswear brand Charles Tyrwhitt is set to open its newest store at The Maltings in St Albans on Saturday 7th November, rounding off its 40th anniversary year with its 46th UK store.
Spanning 1,320 sq ft, the store will be the second Charles Tyrwhitt location in the UK to open without a traditional till point, reflecting the brand’s continued investment in a mobile-first approach to retail. By moving away from a fixed checkout, team members will be able to engage with customers across the shop floor, using technology to support assisted selling and complete transactions while maintaining the sales conversation through to payment. The approach places meaningful customer engagement and product discovery at the heart of the experience, creating a more seamless and personalised shopping journey.

To celebrate the opening, customers can look forward to complimentary drinks, including bubbles and Tyrwhitt Pilsner beer. The first 20 customers to make a purchase will receive a gift, while an in-store golf ball activation will give shoppers the chance to win prizes.
Founded in 1986 by Nick Wheeler OBE while studying at the University of Bristol, Charles Tyrwhitt began as a mail-order shirt business with the ambition of making a proper shirt that didn’t cost the earth. Four decades later, the brand has grown into an international menswear retailer with more than 100 stores across cities including London, Paris, New York, Chicago, Dubai and Mumbai.
The new store reflects Charles Tyrwhitt’s continued investment in physical retail, combining its heritage in quality menswear with a modern, customer-focused shopping experience.
The new Charles Tyrwhitt store will open on Saturday 7th November at 44 The Maltings, St Albans, AL1 3HL.
