• JET Go gives partners of all sizes access to Just Eat’s delivery network – from national grocers to local independents
  • Leading quick commerce grocery supermarket, Co-op, is the first to roll out JET Go nationwide
  • Delivery-as-a-Service also represents an opportunity for smaller businesses, with the solution set to go live on Co-op’s newly launched app, Peckish, which enables independent grocers to offer an online delivery service to their local customers

Just Eat, the UK’s largest delivery network, has announced the full UK launch of its Delivery-as-a-Service platform, JET Go. JET Go enables partner brands to receive customer orders through their own channels while tapping into Just Eat’s technology infrastructure and reliable network of independent couriers to offer on-demand, same-day and scheduled deliveries.

JET Go responds to the growing consumer demand for immediate convenience, with 80% of customers now wanting same-day or on-demand delivery, and 75% of on-demand grocery shoppers expecting it to become part of their daily lives.

The launch of JET Go is part of Just Eat’s ambition to make high street shopping available to all, at the tap of a screen. From top-up groceries and the best independent takeaways, to essentials like pet food, pharmacy items and small electricals. Retail orders on Just Eat doubled last year alone, reflecting the surging consumer appetite for fast, flexible, on-demand shopping.

Co-op leads JET Go nationwide

As the official launch partner for JET Go, Co-op has rolled out the service across hundreds of stores to support its strategic focus on convenience and same-day delivery. Customers within a five-mile radius can shop through Co-op’s online shop or the Just Eat app, selecting from an extensive range with access to quality products, deals, and fast fulfilment. People can purchase everything from a full shop to forgotten or top-up ingredients for a midweek meal, or treats for evenings at home.

Delivery-as-a-Service is already live on Just Eat’s platforms in 15 countries including Canada, Australia, Bulgaria and Spain and more big UK brands are set to come online across in the coming months.

Matt Ephgrave, MD of Just Eat for Business, said: “At Just Eat, we’re focused on making convenience accessible – with around 500 orders placed every minute and 18 million UK customers expecting rapid fulfilment, our infrastructure and rider network is built to meet this demand. With JET Go, we can support our partner brands to respond and scale with confidence. We’re proud to be working with our long-standing partner Co-op and share their commitment to making online grocery shopping fast and flexible for households across the UK. JET Go is not only a powerful solution for major retailers, but also a game-changer for smaller high street businesses looking to offer on-demand delivery with full brand control while retaining control of the customer experience.”

Chris Conway, Co-op Quick Commerce Director, said: “Growing our quick commerce channel is a priority for us and a core part of our strategic approach, and so I am delighted to extend and deepen our successful partnership with Just Eat. Innovation has always been fundamental to our approach and we continue to see consumer appetite for quick, easy and convenient grocery delivery continue to grow. Our new agreement with JET Go is an exciting new chapter in our relationship, which will see us work together to continue to grow Co-op’s leading q-comm channel and meet the evolving needs of shoppers in our communities across the UK.”

Powering local delivery for independents

JET Go will also fulfil deliveries on Co-op’s newly launched app, Peckish. Peckish is dedicated to supporting independent local grocery retailers in communities across the UK. Unveiled earlier this year in a supermarket first, Peckish is available to small, often family-owned, independent grocery retailers and enables them to provide an online grocery shopping and delivery service to local customers. JET Go represents the next step in the mission to allow high street independents to have a presence online and helping more consumers shop locally with fast, reliable delivery.
