Britain’s toy shop, The Entertainer, has revealed that last weekend’s opening of its first Generation 5 store concept – in the Bluewater shopping centre – was the most successful in its 45-year history.
The new store opened at Bluewater on Saturday 24th May with the bank holiday weekend registering record customer numbers and all-time high sales volumes, with over 10,000 visitors in the first three days of trade.
Saturday, the official opening day, saw queues reaching the length of the mall, as customers waited patiently to shop one of the country’s few POP MART Roboshops and enjoy a Bluey meet-and-greet.
For the store’s second weekend the celebrations continue with a Peppa Pig ‘Daddy Pig’ meet and greet and a series of live Pitter Patter Pets demonstrations in-store.
Andrew Murphy OBE, Group Chief Executive Officer of The Entertainer, said: “The success of our new Generation 5 concept and our Bluewater store is – above all – a huge credit to our retail, commercial, marketing and property teams.
With a record number of customers in the first three days the store is off to an incredibly strong start, with Lego, Pop Mart and our exclusive private label products all proving very popular. Consolidating the strength of the shop’s product offering, we’re delighted with the enthusiastic customer response to our price match promise – guaranteeing Kent’s toy lovers the very best prices in the mall and the local area.
