Beauty giant, Space NK, has opened its doors at Highcross Leicester today (26 June), marking its first ever expansion into the city.

The inclusive global beauty brand, which first opened in 1991 in London’s Covent Garden and now amasses over 76 stores in the UK and Ireland, is famous for its selection of high-end skincare, make-up and wellness products.

To mark the much-anticipated opening, shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of a series of exclusive prizes on offer, including lucky dip opportunities and free ice creams and lollies, while the first 100 people in the queue will receive an exclusive goodie bag.

Located next to Skechers on the lower mall, Space NK marks Highcross’ first foray into the beauty space, with healthcare, skincare and fragrance brands like Lush, Jo Malone and Clarins already on offer.

Hot on the heels of earlier announcements made by the shopping centre, which include the recent openings of both leading international fashion label, Mango, and Asian sushi and noodle bar, Maki & Ramen, Space NK is a welcome addition to visitors who have long called out for a major beauty brand in the centre.

Its arrival will be quickly followed by globally renowned Dutch wellbeing brand, Rituals, which is set to open its doors in July, further adding to its growing offering.

The brand new Space NK will be home to over 100 of the world’s most-wanted beauty brands, from Rare Beauty to Drunk Elephant, Olaplex and more. Shoppers will also have access to expert advice and complimentary 1-2-1 consultations with Space NK’s own beauty advisors.

Talking about this latest arrival, Michelle Menezes, Centre Director at Highcross, said:

“It’s been a busy, but exciting, first half of the year at Highcross. Our teams have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to secure some amazing, much-loved brands, each of whom have shown real interest in becoming part of Leicester’s retail scene.

“That’s why we’re thrilled that Space NK has chosen Highcross as its latest destination, bringing with it loads of popular brands that shoppers will now be able to try out and get their hands on, while also speaking to their talented team of beauty experts. We already know that the people of Leicester love to invest in their health and beauty regimes, so we’re not surprised to see the huge queue that’s formed outside its doors this morning, raring to get in and see it for themselves.

“With Mango and Maki & Ramen recently opening their doors, and Rituals on its way, Space NK joins at an exciting juncture, which we’re sure will help to drive even more people into the city centre, whether for a weekend treat or midday bite to eat. There’s still more to come though, so watch this space for further announcements soon!”

Andy Lightfoot, CEO at Space NK, added:

“We are delighted to open our first store in Leicester, bringing Space NK’s unique edit of the world’s most desirable beauty brands to Highcross. This location has long been requested by our customers and we look forward to welcoming them.”
