‘Made in Central London’ recruitment event to offer employment opportunities for up to 1,000 applicants in retail, hospitality, leisure, construction and facilities management
The Crown Estate in association with British Land, Grosvenor, Shaftesbury Capital, Westminster City Council and the Department for Work and Pensions are hosting ‘Made in Central London’, a recruitment event to support job seekers in the next step in their career.
Taking place on Friday 16th May from 9:30am to 3pm at The Londoner Hotel in Leicester Square, the event will offer up to 1,000 applicants the opportunity to meet some of Central London’s most iconic hospitality, retail, construction and facilities management companies.
‘Made in Central London’ brings together businesses and potential employees in one space, offering short, speed interviews for live vacancies. Attendees could go home on the day with a new role, as the event accelerates the traditional job application process by removing the need for CV screening.
Previous recruitment events hosted by The Crown Estate have facilitated 4,300 interviews, with 876 candidates progressing to second-stage interviews across 142 different brands and businesses in the West End. Now The Crown Estate is looking to grow its impact by joining forces with other property companies operating locally.
Over 30 businesses will be recruiting at the event, including major retail brands such as Liberty, Jo Malone, Burberry and Fortnum & Mason, as well as leisure and hospitality operators like Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, Clays and The Chancery Rosewood, opening late summer. Construction and facilities management businesses, including CBRE, will also be in attendance.
Supporting the retail, hospitality and construction sectors, the event aims to support growth in the West End’s economy. Generating £9 billion annually and supporting 560,000 jobs, the West End has one of the highest employment densities in the world. By facilitating employment opportunities in this way, the property sector is actively driving further growth across retail, hospitality and leisure to enhance the wider West End’s reputation as a world-class destination.
All candidates will be welcomed to the event, including those with health conditions, disabilities and accessibility needs. The event is open to anyone looking for full time or part time employment.
