- Sales up 7.5 percent year on year in November, driven by strong brand performance
- Retail mix strengthened by strategic leasing wins with Belstaff, Columbia & Monsoon
- Black Friday trading delivered double-digit uplifts, including +13.3 percent sales growth and +8.5 percent footfall increase
One of Scotland’s outlet shopping destinations has recorded its best ever November performance in history, marking a major milestone just as Livingston Designer Outlet celebrates 25 years since opening.
Sales for the month grew by 7.5 percent year on year, supported by a 4 percent increase in footfall. The strong uplift reflects the appeal of the centre’s evolving retail mix and continued consumer demand for outlet shopping.
Performance was further boosted during the Black Friday trading period, where sales were up 13.3 pe cent year on year and like for like sales grew by 11.5 percent. In a shifting economic landscape, outlet shopping continues to stand out as a top choice for customers seeking high-quality products at exceptional value with footfall across the same period increased by 8.5 percent.
The success follows a series of recent openings including Belstaff, Columbia (the first and only Scottish store), Monsoon and Ravensburger, with Crocs set to join the line up shortly. These brands elevate the centre’s profile, driving footfall and creating a dynamic shopping destination.
The benefits of strategic asset management are also evident in individual retailer performance. Calvin Klein, which recently upsized at Livingston Designer Outlet, saw sales climb by 44 percent in November.
Livingston Designer Outlet is home to over 80 designer and high street names and continues to attract retailers investing in both customer experience and growth. Earlier in the year, brands including Le Creuset and Lacoste invested in new store fit outs and relocations within the scheme and have since continued to deliver strong results.
Nicky Lovell, Head of Outlets and Retail Business Development at Global Mutual, said: “We are incredibly pleased to see Livingston Designer Outlet deliver its strongest November since opening 25 years ago. These results demonstrate the momentum that is building at the centre and the positive impact of our leasing strategy alongside the continued commitment of our retail partners. With a refreshed line up and more exciting openings to come, we look forward to building on this success into the year ahead.”
