VoCoVo, the retail communications specialist, today announces a partnership with Currys, the omnichannel retailer of technology products and services, to implement its Series 5 Pro Headset technology and support its largest ever investment in store safety initiatives.

Following a successful trial of VoCoVo’s headsets in 20 selected stores, Currys has begun a full rollout across all of its UK&I stores. Every colleague will be equipped with a headset by the end of this month, allowing them to stay better connected and therefore safer on the shop floor amid an industry-wide rise in shoplifting and abuse incidents.

The solution also serves to improve the in-store experience for customers. Colleagues can communicate with ease and efficiency, ensuring customer queries are answered quickly. Furthermore, call points incorporated throughout the stores will enable visitors to request assistance at the touch of a button, with the notification delivered straight to colleague headsets.

Matthew Speight, Director of UK Stores, Currys, said: “Incidents of shoplifting and aggression against retail workers are continuing to rise at a completely unacceptable level. VoCoVo’s headsets, alongside a range of other store safety measures, are allowing us to put our best foot forward in protecting colleagues and customers from dangerous situations. We’re excited to be rolling out the headsets to all our stores following positive feedback from the in-store trials.”

Olivia Robinson, Head of UK & EU Commercial Growth, VoCoVo, said: “Currys is one of the most recognisable UK retail brands, known for trading the best tech products. As a tech-first company ourselves, we share many values with Currys and are proud to announce this partnership. We have enjoyed a successful trial and look forward to continuing to support the full rollout and seeing the impact VoCoVo makes to Currys and its colleagues.”
