The Perfume Shop has announced the launch of its 2025 Christmas Recruitment Programme, with over 900 seasonal roles available nationwide. This year’s recruitment drive is set to be one of the retailer’s biggest to date, with more Christmas Sales Assistants being hired than in 2024 to meet increased customer demand.

Last year, The Perfume Shop received over 29,000 applications for its seasonal roles, highlighting just how popular the programme is with people looking for flexible, festive employment opportunities.

As a proud real Living Wage employer, The Perfume Shop ensures that all employees over 18 – including seasonal staff – are paid fairly. Rates start at £12.60 per hour (£13.85 in London), with the added benefit of sales commission and staff discount. Seasonal employees also receive access to wellbeing support through the retailer’s partnerships with the Retail Trust and Wagestream.

The roles offer opportunities for those looking to step into retail for the first time, as well as for individuals with previous experience who want to develop their skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. In addition to temporary Christmas Sales Assistant positions, permanent Team Leader and Store Manager roles are also available across selected locations.

Importantly, many seasonal employees go on to secure permanent roles. Each year, a significant number of Christmas Sales Assistants are retained as Sales Advisors, allowing them to build long-term careers at The Perfume Shop, where many go on to higher positions within the company. The Perfume Shop has also extended a message of support to those affected by recent store closures in the retail sector, encouraging displaced staff to explore opportunities at The Perfume Shop.

As a Top Employer, The Perfume Shop are proud to ‘Grow our Own’, enabling people to flourish through various learning and development programmes such as apprenticeships, The Fragrance Foundation qualifications, online modules and their very own learner app. The Perfume Shop are committed to helping their Perfume People develop their talent, passion and spark to help them grow within the business.

Michelle Fellows, People, Sustainability & Development Director says “Christmas is one of the most exciting times of year for our stores, and our seasonal perfume people play a huge role in delivering magical experiences for customers during their scent shopping journey. We’re proud to offer fair pay, commission, and wellbeing support for our Christmas Sales Assistants, as well as a pathway into long-term careers with us. Whether you’re looking for your first retail role or ready to step into management, we’d love to hear from you.”

Recruitment has already begun in selected stores, with further opportunities being advertised in the coming weeks. For more information, visit: www.theperfumeshopjobs.com
