Eden Shopping Centre is proud to announce that it has been recognised for yet another year at the Green Apple Environment Awards, reinforcing its position as one of the UK’s most environmentally progressive retail destinations. At the 2025 ceremony, Eden received four awards in the categories of Carbon Reduction, Energy Management, Energy Saving, and Lighting Efficiency.
This continued success reflects Eden’s long-term commitment to environmental excellence and significant investment in reducing the centre’s carbon footprint. Competing against more than 1,000 nominations, Eden impressed judges with its project “Eden Energy Efficiency”, with the awards presented at a glittering presentation ceremony at the House of Lords, Westminster Palace, London on November 17th 2025.
Judges praised Eden for sustaining year-on-year reductions for 18 consecutive months through improved controls, metering insight and targeted upgrades. They noted that Eden’s 8.1 percent energy saving, almost 250 MWh, was further strengthened by renewable electricity contracts, creating long-term carbon reductions and a replicable model for other retail environments.
Andrew Norton, Centre Director at Eden, said: “We are incredibly proud to be recognised for our environmental commitment. It is great to be further recognised by The Green Apple Environment Awards as our whole team is committed to ensuring Eden plays a positive role in creating a more sustainable future.”
It is only by working together and communicating with our partners, tenants, and the local community we can minimise the impact of Eden on the environment.”
The Green Apple Awards, established in 1994 and organised by The Green Organisation, are one of the UK’s most respected platforms for recognising environmental best practice among companies, councils, communities and countries.
The awards are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, REHIS, and other respected bodies.
