The Perfume Shop launches Christmas recruitment drive with around 800 seasonal roles across the UK & Ireland

The Perfume Shop has launched its 2026 Christmas recruitment programme, with around 800 temporary Christmas Sales Assistant roles becoming available across the UK and Ireland ahead of the festive season.

Vacancies have already opened in selected locations, with hundreds more set to go live throughout September and early October. Nearly every The Perfume Shop store will welcome at least one temporary Christmas Sales Assistant this year, as the retailer strengthens its teams ahead of one of the busiest periods in the retail calendar.

Alongside supporting stores during the Christmas rush, this year’s recruitment programme will provide hundreds of people with the chance to build hands-on workplace experience. The Perfume Shop is particularly encouraging applications from young people entering employment for the first time, for whom a seasonal position can provide an accessible first step into the world of work.

Working on the shop floor during the fast-paced festive period gives new starters experience that extends well beyond retail, from learning how to communicate with different customers and work effectively as part of a team, to problem solving and building confidence in a professional environment.

Christmas Sales Assistants will be supported with training to prepare them for the festive season and will work alongside The Perfume Shop’s experienced Perfume People, helping customers find the perfect fragrance for one of the biggest gifting occasions of the year.

Seasonal perfume people have the opportunity to earn commission in addition to their hourly pay and receive an employee discount on products. Wellbeing support is available through the Retail Trust and Stream, providing resources to support people’s mental, physical and financial wellbeing. While these roles provide an opportunity for those taking their first steps into employment, applications are open to people at all stages of their working lives, whether looking for additional income over Christmas, wanting to build experience or simply seeking a new challenge during the festive period.

Recruitment is now underway, with further Christmas Sales Assistant vacancies set to be released throughout September and early October.
