The Langham Estate’s Fitzrovia Quarter is harnessing the launch of London’s arts season by unveiling a striking new hand-painted, 13.5 metre-tall commission, Threads in Common by emerging artist Oliwia Bober on Mortimer Street, and will host a special three-day art pop-up exhibition at 55 Eastcastle Street, from 23-25 October 2025, known as The Artist’s Corner.

This campaign reflects Fitzrovia Quarter’s ongoing placemaking strategy to celebrate the neighbourhood’s distinctive mix of art, retail, hospitality, and architecture. Both the mural and pop-up exhibition are designed to drive visibility, engagement and footfall across the area, by bringing together the very best of Fitzrovia’s creative talent.

The Artist’s Corner exhibition will be free to the public, inviting visitors to discover the work of young, emerging artists and experience Fitzrovia Quarter’s creative energy firsthand. Inspired by the new mural commissioned by The Langham Estate, the pop-up will showcase its thriving gallery scene  by presenting a curated selection of artwork from local galleries such as Pontone Gallery, Ab-Anbar Gallery, ST.ART Gallery, Eclectic Gallery, Des Bains alongside local partners Cartoon Museum, Fitzrovia Chapel and The Newman hotel.

Commissioned by The Langham Estate and standing 13.5 metres tall on Mortimer Street above the FS8 Pilates studio, Oliwia Bober’s mural, Threads in Common, celebrates Fitzrovia Quarter’s intersecting communities, and honours the women whose craftsmanship shaped the local garment industry in the 18th century. The vibrant artwork will decorate a three-storey blank wall above the FS8 pilates studio on Mortimer Street.

To mark the occasion, local restaurants, hotels and other businesses will be joining in with special privileges, arts-themed cocktails/menus, and their own unique events, encouraging visitors to spend time exploring this exciting cultural hub of central London.

Commenting on the Fitrovia Quarter arts campaign, Greg Hutcheson, Brand & Marketing Manager for The Langham Estate said: “The Artist’s Corner is a very special initiative for us, as it marks the first time that so many Fitzrovia galleries and artists have come together to exhibit collectively under one collaborative roof. We’re delighted with the response from local galleries, businesses and cultural partners who share our vision to attract new audiences and showcase this remarkable neighbourhood, which blends art, retail and lifestyle so seamlessly – and is now made even more vibrant with Oliwia Bober’s beautiful mural, which will hopefully be a meaningful part of our community for years to come”.

Commenting on ‘Threads in Common’, Oliwia Bober said: “I’m thrilled to be delivering the mural on Mortimer Street this autumn. My intention for the work is to reflect the beauty of collective effort over individualism, in a celebration of a place which owes a lot to the communities who shaped it. The mural design recognises the women living in the area who powered the garment trade in the 19th/20th centuries, as well reflecting contemporary Fitzrovia as a place of discovery, dynamism and connection. I can’t wait to see the impact on the streetscape and see how people react to the new artwork.”
