- Portas joins fellow headliner and Dragon’s Den star, Steven Bartlett, and over 100 of retail’s brightest minds on the Retail Technology Show stage
Queen of Shops and co-chair of the Better Business Act, Mary Portas, is confirmed as a keynote speaker for the Retail Technology Show, retail’s golden ticket event, taking place on 26 & 27 April 2023 at London’s Olympia.
Following the announcement of Steven Bartlett as its headline speaker last week, Portas is the latest industry trailblazer to be announced as part of the event’s conference programme, and will join over 100+ retail thought leaders taking to the stage at the flagship retail event.
Speaking on the Headline Stage on Day 2, moderated this year by retail broadcaster and Customer Whisperer Kate Hardcastle MBE, Portas will discuss the role of human connectivity and the Kindness Economy in the future of retail. She will explore what this new value system, where businesses must understand the fundamental role they play in the fabric of people’s lives, means for retailers – and their omnichannel technology roadmaps – as they look ahead to 2023 and beyond.
Matt Bradley, Event Director for the Retail Technology Show, commented: “Retail is a people business – and human connectivity, delivered through the retail workforce, sits front and centre of delivering the customer experiences needed for success, often representing the make-or-break moment in consumers’ buying journeys. Human touch, connectivity and technology all have a role in empowering retail workforces to perform and drive the competitive advantage needed, so we’re thrilled to have the retail powerhouse that is Mary Portas join the stage to discuss such a mission-critical topics.”
She will be joined later on the Headline Stage by fellow Retail Technology Show headliner and Dragon’s Den star, Barlett, who will deliver a keynote for the Ecommerce Growth & Omnichannel track.
A further five conference tracks will run across the two-day event seeing retailers, including Screwfix, Morrisons, IKEA, Jigsaw, adidas and John Lewis & Partners, discuss key trends and topics, from leadership and culture, ecommerce, customer obsession, payments and supply chain.
