Sports presenter and broadcaster, Jake Humphrey, has been confirmed as a headline speaker at the Retail Technology Show, retail’s golden ticket event taking place on 26 & 27 April 2023 at London’s Olympia.

Having already announced Queen of Shops, Mary Portas, Dragon’s Den star, Steven Bartlett and former JD Sports CEO, Peter Cowgill, as headline speakers for its conference programme, Humphrey is the latest luminary confirmed to join over 100+ retail thought leaders taking to the stage at the flagship retail event.

Best known as the anchor-man for the Premier League coverage on BT Sport, Humphrey now hosts The High-Performance podcast, which gives listeners insights into the lives of high-flying, high-achieving individuals, and shares first-hand experiences and best practice in driving results in all walks of life.  Humphrey joins Retail Reflections’ Andrew Busby on the Headline Stage on Day 1 for a fireside chat, which will explore how retail leaders can ensure their workforce can perform at their highest level, at a time when the role of retail staff is having a greater impact upon delivering enhanced customer experience for shoppers.

Original research of over 1,000 UK consumers by the Retail Technology Show revealed that increasingly retail staff are at the forefront of shaping customer experiences delivery in-store.  Over half (53%) said store staff could ‘make or break’ the shopping experience, rising by +13 percentage points year-on-year as the role of frontline retail workers becomes even more central to delivering the service needed to drive conversions, sales and loyalty.

Matt Bradley, Event Director for the Retail Technology Show, commented: “As the adage goes, people buy from people, and our research shows that frontline retail staff are central to supporting customers’ buying journeys.  Representing the face of the retailer to shoppers, retail staff are at the heart of customer service delivery and need to be empowered and engaged to succeed.  And that’s just one of the reasons we’re looking forward to welcoming Jake as one of the show’s headliners, sharing his insight and hacks for inspiring teams to deliver performance.”

A further five conference tracks will run across the two-day event seeing retailers, including The Very Group, John Lewis & Partners, Bensons for Beds as well as key retail industry bodies, such as the British Retail Consortium and the Retail Trust, discuss key trends and topics, from leadership and culture, ecommerce, customer obsession, payments and supply chain.

Bringing together the brightest minds in retail with the most transformative technologies, the 2023 Retail Technology Show is a one-stop-shop for innovation, with 300+ innovators – from tech’s biggest players to fast-growth disruptors including Cisco, Logile, TSG, Checkout.com, VisionR, and Coalescent Mobile Robotics  – showcasing their transformative solutions.
