World Bicycle Relief can now be selected as a charity partner on Pledger’s eCommerce platform, making it easier for businesses and customers to support the charity.

World Bicycle Relief, a charitable organisation which mobilises people and communities through access to bicycles, is delighted to announce that it is now registered with Pledger, a platform designed to make charity partnerships and donations more accessible to e-commerce businesses and their customers. This agreement will see small and medium enterprises (SMEs) focussing on eCommerce able to support World Bicycle Relief’s critical work.

These partnerships are complex to set up, involving a range of legal and financial compliance requirements that can require a significant financial and resource investment for small businesses. However, Pledger automates this process by providing a list of registered charity partners, options for ways to give, and routes to demonstrate charitable impact to customers – simplifying and incentivising the donation process for all involved.

To date, World Bicycle Relief has supported more than 3.4 million people in 21 countries in increasing their social, economic, and educational mobility via access to specially designed, hardy bicycles – the Buffalo Bike. In this time, the global non-profit has delivered 572,000 Buffalo Bikes to students, healthcare workers and entrepreneurs, enabling them to access vital services and open up new opportunities for themselves and their communities. The partnership between Pledger and World Bicycle Relief will enable a far greater range of customers and businesses to support the cause, overall leading to more bicycles being provided to those in need.

Allison Dufosee, CEO, World Bicycle Relief UK, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Pledger to open up the benefits of corporate giving to SME’s across the UK. It can often be logistically challenging for smaller firms to commit to social and environmental causes and demonstrate the impact of their charity partnerships to their customers, so it’s fantastic that Pledger is working to  streamline this process. Our partnership will enable so many more businesses and their customers to support World Bicycle Relief, allowing us to provide more essential bikes to people in the developing world.”

Mariya Kupriyenko, CEO, Pledger, said:
“Just like its clients, Pledger is a small company. This means that we understand the challenges other SME’s face trying to manage the many legal and financial hurdles which exist in business. We want to make it as straight-forward as possible for businesses and their customers to have a meaningful social and environmental impact on the world. As an enthusiastic cyclist myself, I am delighted to be working with World Bicycle Relief to help drive more donations and more support to people whose lives can truly be transformed by having access to a bicycle.”
