Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City are getting ready to welcome the festive season with a line-up of Christmas activities for the whole family to enjoy. From cosy igloo dining experiences at the Winter Village to virtual meet and greets with Santa, there are plenty of magical events to help celebrate Christmas safely this December.

Santa Calls – Virtual meet and greets with Santa

Available to book now for sessions between 10th-24th December, Westfield welcomes you to your very own ‘Santa Calls’ personalised virtual session with Santa. Although this year’s Christmas is set to be different, Westfield does not want UK families to miss out on their usual Christmas traditions, and that means visiting Santa to share your wish list.

These virtual meet-and-greets are free to book and available between 12-6pm each day in the lead up to Christmas. The sessions will run for five minutes and a digital photo with Santa will be taken so families can keep a special token from their visit. To book, visit the Westfield website.

The Winter Village at Westfield Square

The Winter Village returns for its second year at Westfield London with the capital’s newest Winter Igloos taking over the large outdoor event space. The Winter Igloos, in partnership with All Star Lanes, will open on 10th December and will be fitted with sheep pelts, blankets and fairy lights to provide the perfect cosy, and safe, pod where households will have their own private dining experience.

Guests can enjoy seasonal cocktails, sharing platters and festive menus brought to them exclusively by All Star Lanes. Enter your own karaoke chalet to belt out some festive favourites under the twinkling stars of one of London’s tallest Christmas trees. To book your evening at Westfield Square’s Winter Village, visit the All Star Lanes website.

Festive giveaways + entertainment

After a year like no other, Westfield is looking to bring as much festive magic to Christmas shopping as possible. Each centre will be hosting giveaways of gift cards and presents to make December extra special. Our local communities have worked with us to ensure visits to both Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City are safe for everyone so Westfield is saying thank you with these giveaways.

Ring in the Christmas spirit with weekend entertainment at both centres including DJs, choirs, pop-up music performances and some special character visits. For an additional touch of magic to guests’ shopping experience, Disney is also offering a Festive Star Search with Disney Scan – an app that unlocks exclusive retail offers and Disney digital surprises. Participating retailers will include Disney Store, LEGO, Vue and more. Fans can also enjoy Westfield’s magnificent Christmas tree adorned with Disney-inspired parol star lanterns, as depicted in Disney’s 2020 Christmas Advert. The tree will be situated on Westfield Square at Westfield London.

Harita Shah, Director of Creative, Media, Comms and Events, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield comments: “We’re thrilled to bring the spirit of Christmas to our centres this December. With Christmas set to look a little different, and 2020 being a challenging year for most, we want to create joyful experiences and magical moments whilst supporting important community partners and giving a little back at this time.”

Pivot Kiosk to open at Westfield London

Pivot, founded in 2019 by former architectural student, Alice Moxley, is a jewellery company and social enterprise which empowers people experiencing homelessness to pivot their lives through the creation of jewellery. This creative model is aimed at bringing meaningful employment to those who find it more difficult to access it, resulting in beautiful British made jewellery.

The kiosk will be open at Westfield London during usual trading hours from 7th-20th December and will offer a range of personalised jewellery including earrings, necklaces, glasses chains, brass bookmarks, Christmas decorations and more. Making desks will be available from midday until 8pm where customers can pay for personalised pieces.

Alice Moxley, founder of Pivot comments  “We are really excited to be working with Westfield, it’s an incredible opportunity for us as a business and for our makers too and will provide a huge boost to our sales in the final stretch of this year.   The pandemic has had a monumental impact on people, businesses, government and charities alike this year.  As a social enterprise working with young people experiencing homelessness, we have seen this impact first hand. By working with Westfield we hope to expand our reach, so we help tackle homelessness in the UK by providing more support and employment.”

This year, Westfield will support visitors at Christmas time with a series of in-centre services including concierge and cloakroom.
