Vend announces winner of £20,000 retail growth package

For small-to-medium retailers, having access to the best retail tools and technology is so important in order to grow and compete. This is why retail ePOS software provider Vend recently ran a competition giving UK stores the chance to win a £20,000 package to support their growth.

And now, along with their partners, Vend is excited to announce the winner – London-based boutique Kate Sheridan.

This deserving business will receive software and services vital to helping facilitate growth, including 5 years of Vend worth up to £5000, Star mPOP worth £500, an Albion Implementation Package valued at £6000, biramembership worth up to £1000 and an £8000 street marketing poster package from Jack Agency.

Kate, the talented designer behind Kate Sheridan, creates clothing and bags all handmade locally in the UK. From her weekly Broadway market stall, and boutique and workroom in Hackney, Kate has built a strong international following. Her designs are stocked around the world, from Paris to San Francisco to Tokyo, and in stores across the UK including Fortnum & Mason.

And yet with this success, the business is still largely run with pen and paper. With this prize package, Kate will now be able to make the leap online, as she explains below.

‘We’ve always wanted to be able to analyse our sales data, as we know it’d be a great insight for steering growth. Yet like many independent retailers, we’re a small yet passionate team who are forever rushed off our feet with the day-to-day running of the store. Given the combination of still using the slightly old school tools we started with, and forever being short on time, gathering these insights has always been tantalisingly out of reach. Being given the opportunity to move to digital systems and gain access to these insights through winning the competition will be invaluable for us, and will allow us to push our brand and boutique to new exciting levels. We can’t wait to have a better understanding of our profits, our customers and how best to apply our efforts.’

“We’ve seen some pretty incredible growth from UK retailers in moving to the cloud and using clever technology to manage their businesses – from better customer insights, to a more sophisticated in-store experience, to being able to more easily track their inventory. We really wanted to give another retailer this same advantage, and we’re so pleased for Kate Sheridan. They epitomise British high street retail in their focus on beautiful, quality and locally made designs, and with their success so far they’re really set up to make the most of this amazing opportunity.” – Marc Cooper, VP of EMEA at Vend.
