Velocity Commerce donates £3,000 worth of toys

Online retail marketplace consultancy, Velocity Commerce, based in Cambridge, has donated £3,000 worth of children’s toys to KidsOut, a national charity which provides relief and fun to vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

Velocity Commerce manages and retails product ranges on Amazon and eBay for a wide range of partners, including household-name brands in the children’s toy category. With the support of its partners, Velocity Commerce has been able to pick and pack some of its best, new branded products, and has delivered them direct from its warehouse to the KidsOut headquarters.

Where KidsOut is often overwhelmed with toy donations during the Christmas period, it’s vital that the charity is able to support vulnerable children all year round. The donated toys will now be parcelled up by the KidsOut team, along with a range of other new toys and games, and delivered to some of the 20,000 children who are rehoused due to domestic violence every year in the UK.

Eddie Latham, Director at Velocity Commerce said: “The work KidsOut does is so important, and should be supported all year-round. The charity works with kids who have often had to move home or leave home suddenly, meaning they have no personal possessions. To help with the transition, KidsOut sends each child their very own box of toys, welcoming them to their new space, and bringing joy to children who need it most. Velocity Commerce is working with a range of children’s brands, and we thought this was the perfect opportunity to use what we have to support those in need.

Stewart Moulds, Director of fundraising at KidsOut said “We are very grateful for Velocity Commerce’s support and like many charities, we are facing unprecedented challenges with the Coronavirus outbreak and adapting to ensure we can continue to provide vital support to vulnerable children across the UK. The donated toys will help us provide this support, with toy boxes and activity packs for children isolating in refuges. In addition, KidsOut have just launched their KidsIn campaign which is helping children in refuge whilst they are unable to get out. There are lots of ways of getting involved, please see

Velocity Commerce recently announced its #BackedByVelocity initiative, a charitable programme developed by the company to sponsor up-and-coming sports teams and community causes from across the UK. Amidst the outbreak of COVID-19, Velocity Commerce is opening up the scheme for any charities that need some extra support, hoping to support as many people as possible in this time of crisis.
