Shaftesbury announces the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 Installation in Carnaby

Shaftesbury announces that the UEFA Women’s EURO installation is to be homed on Carnaby Street from 28th March till 10th April. The installation will be assembled beside iconic stores such as size?, War Paint For Men and The Kooples. With less than 100 days to go until the European women’s sport event kicks off, the installation, featuring nine feet tall women’s players, suspended five metres above Carnaby Street, celebrates the scale and importance of UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 by repurposing the traditionally male-dominated table football game.

Simon Quayle, Executive Director at Shaftesbury says: “We are delighted that Carnaby will host the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 installation to celebrate this important football event. We are all excited that England will be holding this prestigious event and are excited to see this activation come to life.”

Tickets to UEFA Women’s EURO England 2022 are officially on sale and to mark the occassion, tournament organisers have unveiled giant women’s table football players on London’s iconic Carnaby Street.

With tickets to all 31 games going on sale, now is the chance for fans of football, women’s sport, and big events to purchase a ticket and be part of a history making tournament that aims to unite football and communities, and amplify the growth of the women’s game.

Chris Bryant, Tournament Director for UEFA Women’s EURO 2022, added: “This is it now. We are just 100 days out from what promises to be a huge, history making spectacle for women’s football.

“We have made a great start already regarding ticket sales. It’s a case now of putting all the final plans in place and generating the excitement around a major sporting event that England has done so well previously.

“This is an opportunity to open up women’s football to new audiences. We wanted to make a bold statement and the installation in Carnaby Street is evident of that. I would encourage anyone who has not already got a ticket to snap them up soon, especially as we are expecting all the available tickets for several matches including all England games and the Final to be purchased soon after going on sale.”

16 nations take part in this year’s tournament which will be played out across England. 10 venues in nine cities will play host to 31 games including Brighton & Hove, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Rotherham, Sheffield, Southampton, Trafford and Wigan & Leigh.

The eye-catching Carnaby Street installation, which features players representing the top-seeded team in each group (England, Germany, Netherlands and France) will be live from 28 March to 10 April. A smaller traditional-sized Women’s EURO table football game is also on display, which passers-by are free to use, featuring teams from England and Austria, who kick off the tournament at Old Trafford on 6 July.
