Theo Paphitis’ #SBS announces Autumn Fair 2019 shortlist

36 shortlisted businesses to compete for 12 free exhibition spots

#SBS Small Business Sunday, the online business community founded by entrepreneur Theo Paphitis, has announced that 12 members of its community will be awarded free exhibition slots at this year’s Autumn Fair, following the success of last year’s showcase.

Competing for the 12 coveted places at the season’s number one marketplace for the retail industry will be this year’s 36 shortlisted businesses. The process is to be judged by a panel of experts from Autumn Fair event organisers, ITE Events.

The winners will take centre stage at the Fair, which runs 1-4 September at Birmingham NEC, and will gain access to tens of thousands of visitors and buyers ready to order products ahead of the busiest retail period of the year – the Golden Quarter.

Theo Paphitis, founder of #SBS, said: “It’s a pleasure to be able to bring the #SBS community back to Autumn Fair. The chance to exhibit at Autumn Fair can have a fantastic impact on a fledgling business’s sales, connections, leads and brand exposure – as we saw from last year. My congratulations go out to all of those who have made the shortlist; these businesses are a true testament to the resilience of the UK retail sector. We’ll be looking forward to announcing the winners of the all-important free exhibiting spaces very soon!”

Julie Driscoll, ITE Regional Director, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Theo and #SBS again this year. The entrepreneurial spirit on display in the 2019 shortlist is nothing short of exceptional. The fact that Autumn Fair and organisations like #SBS are able to support businesses like these is really encouraging for the health of the wider retail community. We thoroughly look forward to seeing the winners.

“As part of the 2019 #SBS showcase, we’re also looking forward to welcoming back some of last year’s #SBS exhibitors to talk about the impact that showcasing at Autumn Fair has had on their business. More details of that coming soon – so watch this space!”
