Sainsbury’s and Nectar Present ‘The Great Big Fruit and Veg Challenge’

  • Customers can earn bonus Nectar points for stocking up on fruit and veg at Sainsbury’s from 7th September to 4th October
  • Bonus points awarded for reaching personalised targets in the Nectar app, based on their typical weekly shop
  • Hundreds of points up for grabs via brand-new fruit and veg tracker, plus more points to earn with six personalised target badges

From Monday 7th September, Sainsbury’s customers can make their Nectar points balance go further by stocking up on fruit and vegetables, with a brand-new tracker available on the Nectar app and website for a limited time.

‘The Great Big Fruit and Veg Challenge’ runs from Monday 7th September to Sunday 4th October and invites customers to play along when they buy more fruit and vegetables by rewarding them with bonus Nectar points, which can be spent at partners including Sainsburys, Argos, eBay and ASOS amongst others.

The tracker sets personalised targets based on users’ typical shopping habits, rewarding customers who increase their intake of fruit and vegetables in store and online, with three levels to complete.

Each customer will be given a personalised target, based on how many portions of fruit and veg they usually buy. Once the target is hit, they will earn points and move up to the next level, with hundreds of points up for grabs. Examples of this include: earn 100 points when you buy 50 portions, 200 when you buy 75 portions and 300 points when you buy 100 portions.

There will also be six product badges, where customers can track the number of portions they buy of a certain product to earn a personalised points reward.

Nectar points can be spent with a wide range of partners and online retailers covering entertainment, travel, food and drink, and experiences. From money off train tickets with the likes of LNER, to the chance to travel on the Eurostar. Cinema tickets and Sky movie rentals can also be purchased using points, along with the latest technology from Argos, coffees at Café Nero, and for those looking for a night in, ready meals at Sainsbury’s.  Points can be collected from almost 400 retailers and partners including Sainsbury’s, Argos, ASOS, Debenhams, Next, Topshop and Not on the High Street.
