• The leading Health and Beauty Brand will donate 10,000 toothbrushes and 10,000 toothpastes to Beauty Banks
  • The charity say that toothpaste and toothbrushes now top the list of items most needed
  • The donation will be distributed across the UK to support areas in need

Toothpaste now tops the list of most requested items across charities in the UK with a recent survey conducted by Beauty Banks backing these claims. The survey showed that 83 percent of teachers have provided toothpaste and toothbrushes to their pupils, with teachers saying that 81 percent of the children in their schools don’t have regular access to toothpaste.

The survey also revealed that two in five children are often socially excluded because of oral hygiene issues and 25 percent of teachers say children often miss school because they are embarrassed by their oral health.

To help support and celebrate World Oral Health Day on the 20th March, Superdrug will be donating 10,000 Pro Care Tooth Brushes and 10,000 Pro Care Whitening Toothpastes to Beauty Banks to distribute to charities across the UK.

Jo Jones, Co-Founder of Beauty Banks said “We saw the demand for help double in the first month of 2023 and toothbrushes and toothpastes are at the top of our list. We work with a number of charities including family centres, food banks, domestic abuse centres and homeless charities where demand for oral care products tops the list, before the cost of living crisis oral care wasn’t even in the top three items requested.

This amazing donation from Superdrug will allow us to support those that can’t afford oral health care during this time, as no one should have to suffer the indignity of hygiene poverty.”

Jamie Archer, Own Brand Director at Superdrug said “We’ve been working closely with Beauty Banks for the past five years, so when we heard the results from their recent survey we were shocked by the statistics but knew that we were in a position to help. We hope that our donation of 20,000 oral health care products can help those that need it most and we will continue to work with Beauty Banks to continue to support our customers and communities as best we can.”
