Simba records strongest ever Q2 in brand’s history

Generating more sales in the first half of 2021 than the entirety of 2019, Simba, the London-based sleep technology business, continues its rapid growth, recording its highest ever Q2 sales and profits.

Simba’s first half sales to 30 June, were up 130% compared to the same period in 2020. This significant sales growth follows 66% growth in 2020 compared to 2019, showing the business is accelerating its growth trajectory, with its innovative product range growing in popularity

Striking a chord with existing and new customers alike, Simba continues to outperform the category in consumer sentiment; reaching over 150,000 5-star reviews, achieving over 90% of both 4 and 5-star reviews on Trustpilot and a consistently high Net Promoter Score (Index measuring the willingness of customers to recommend a company’s products or services to others) of 65%+.

The H1 launch of Simba’s Hybrid Luxe mattress, with its advanced 10-layer design, outperformed all expectations and proved that customers with an increased focus on their sleep, are increasingly valuing the most innovative and more premium end of the Simba range to satisfy their sleep comfort needs.

The launch of the Simba Hybrid Bundle sleep system, available with all three of the Simba Hybrid mattresses, also allowed for further business growth in Q2 and eased the purchasing path for customers, able to experience the full Simba sleep experience at the best value.

The Simba Hybrid Pro was also awarded the coveted T3 Best Mattress during the quarter and Simba achieved the seal of approval from Good Housekeeping Institute, which highlighted the temperature control of the Simba Hybrid mattresses.

Steve Reid, Chief Executive of Simba, said:

“The easing of lockdown in the UK in April brought offline competition back into the market, and whilst there have been more demands on people’s discretionary spend, an increase in costs of advertising and inflationary pressure in raw materials, Simba has proven more than resilient……

“Sales performance through the lifting of lockdown has remained very strong. Added to our record sales and accelerating growth, the first half of 2021 has also been Simba’s most profitable ever and the second quarter was our fifth straight quarter of EBITDA profitability.

“Thanks to our continuous product innovation and the continued hard work and support of the team and our partners, the business continues to go from strength to strength.”
