Shoppers help to boost charity funds

Shoppers at Lakeside Village have donated cash to ensure that the centre’s charity of the year can help even more families affected by cancer.

The kind hearted customers have donated money to help Team Verrico when they have visited the centre to see the Coca Cola Truck or visited the centre to see Santa’s Grotto.

David Aunins, centre manager for Lakeside Village said: “We are thrilled that the donations that our customers made over December have brought the total raised for Team Verrico to £3408.

“Our customers chose Team Verrico as our charity until the end of June 2019 and we have lots of fundraising ideas to help to add to the amount we raise for them.

“We’ll be holding a car wash in the next few months when centre management will be washing customers’ cars to raise cash for the charity and will be inviting them to the centre to fundraise when we hold our half term activities.”

Team Verrico is a charity set up to help families affected by cancer.

Paul Verrico, from Team Verrico, said: “Lakeside’s customers have been extremely generous and we are very grateful for their donations.

“Team Verrico’s mission is to fight alongside those afflicted with cancer to achieve positive outcomes, bringing hope where there is none, creating ‘more tomorrows’. We rely on donations and fundraising to enable us to do this, all donations making a real difference to local people and their families. As a no-salary charity those donating can be assured their funds aren’t being absorbed in costly overheads or administration costs. We are always on the look-out for those can give of their time to help organise events like our summer ball and camping events, so please get in touch with jackie@teamverrico.org if you can assist”
