Sainsbury’s has unveiled a brand-new dedicated lunch stand in over 300 stores across the UK. The in-aisle concept is the first of its kind to launch in UK supermarkets, designed to make lunchtime easier for Brits, wherever they are working.

As a result of balancing working at home and being in the office, Sainsbury’s is leading the charge in providing a selection of delicious, time saving lunch meals to inspire customers to mix up their midday mealtime from as little as £2.00. With 24 new inspiring products in the range, that’s enough for four working weeks of a different meal each day.

The dedicated lunch spot will stock competitively priced, convenient meals which are perfect for busy Brits to grab on the go. Featuring Sainsbury’s own brand favourites in new eye-catching packaging, customers can pick up a meal for between £2.00 and £3.75. Hot food options that can be cooked easily at home or in the office in as little as three minutes, are also on the menu.

Indulge in a hearty food box such as the Veg Thai Red Curry or Mexican Burrito Bowl heated in just 180 seconds, while the flavoursome flatbreads including the delicious Mozzarella and Pesto or Salami and Fresh Herb, can be ready in seven minutes. For those who normally opt for a salad, Sainsbury’s is offering new scrumptious salad combinations, such as Roast Vegetable Couscous and Lamb Koftas, or Corn Fritter and Bean Salad.

In addition to these new mouth-watering Sainsbury’s own brand lunch options, there will also be delicious dishes from high-street favourites, Itsu, LEON, as well as Wasabi, which is exclusive to Sainsbury’s.

Available in selected stores, excluding convenience, the launch comes as Sainsbury’s aims to help the nation eat better, while supporting customers in reclaiming their lunchbreak by saving time on making lunch.

Frances Hughes, Category Planner, Food for Later for Sainsbury’s, said: “As a hybrid style of working becomes more normal, we’ve been working hard to analyse customer needs when it comes to their lunchtime meals. It’s important for us to provide our customers with convenient and healthy lunch options whether they’re in the office or at home, and alongside our partners Wasabi, Itsu and Leon, we’ve developed delicious choices that enable them to do so.”

“Whether it’s stocking up on the weekly shop or heading to a Sainsbury’s Local during a lunch break, the introduction of the in-aisle lunch stand makes it easily accessible for anyone to pick up an affordable and balanced meal, no matter what your daily ritual is.”

Available until 17th November. Promotions on selected items until 12th October. Excludes convenience stores.
