RetailEXPO Announces Nominees for 2019 POPAI Awards

Nominees for the 2019 POPAI Awards, which seek to reward creativity, innovation and best practice in retail marketing, have been announced at the first day of RetailEXPO.

Now in their thirteenth year, the POPAI Awards celebrate the role of retail marketing in all areas of shopper engagement and successful retailing. The awards are a showcase for retailers dedicated to achieving excellence in-store.

The main awards categories comprise of individual 26 categories for both permanent and temporary displays and include new categories for Window Display, Shopper Technology, Store Design, Concept Store, Shop-in-Shop and Pop-Up, Experiential, Shopper Marketing Campaigns and Project Management and Installation.

Judging took place throughout April by a panel of experienced retailers and brand owners who considered whether the entry met the brief and satisfied both brand objectives and shopper needs, how well it overcame practical in-store challenges and demonstrated original thinking, as well as how it performed in terms of retail impact, execution and relevance to its context. They also considered how well brand and promotional messages were communicated and how it performed against key performance measures.

Phil Day, Director at POPAI for UK, commented: “The POPAI awards are highly regarded and recognised within the retail industry. They provide a great opportunity for clients and suppliers alike to benchmark their work and how it compares across the sector. They continue to be an extremely important showcase for industry best practice, in front of a broad, engaged audience. The standard of entries this year has been exceptionally good, the innovations and creative thinking around complex shopper problems is massive for the industry.”

Matt Bradley, Event Director at RetailEXPO, commented: “We are proud to announce and celebrate the nominated entries of this year’s prestigious POPAI Awards, at RetailEXPO. This year’s nominees have demonstrated creativity, innovation and best practice in retail marketing that’s pushing the envelope in terms of delivering CX in-store.
