News from RDE: Retail Design Show Announces an Inspiring Retail Conference Line-up

Retailers looking to gain insight into today’s retail landscape can learn from the industry’s leading experts at Retail Design Expo’s Conference Programme.

Now in its fourth year, the Retail Design Expo (RDE) will be featuring an impressive line-up of speakers for the two-day event, which takes place on 2-3 May at London Olympia.

There are more than 100 expertly curated, free conference sessions taking place across five theatres at the show, including the new Store of the Future theatre.

Speakers include Howard Saunders, Retail Futurist, who will deliver ‘Brands On The Run’ which aims to address the real-world impact of new (mostly retail) technologies such as drone delivery, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Facial Software. Howard will look at how the cleverest retail brands are reacting, the effect on the high street and what it all means for consumers.

Danielle Pinnington, MD, Shoppercentric will provide insight into a new generation of shoppers in her session ‘Getting Under The Skin Of Gen Z,’ which will examine their main characteristics, how to inspire them using everything from digital platforms to in-store visuals, as well as fundamentals of price, quality and choice. This will be complimented by ‘How the Concept of Time Will Change the Retail Landscape for Gen Z’. Aileen Poe, Senior Designer, Fitch will look at how geo-location and social media are now dictating where and when a space becomes a retail environment and the impact of the sharing economy and its influence on the future hybrid stores.

Brands also speaking at the event, include Poonam Modhvadia, Retail Marketing Manager, Casio UK; Dan Buckingham, Head of Retail, Virgin Holidays and Kate Maher, Senior Director Retail Concept Creation, Adidas.

“We are delighted to welcome another high calibre line-up to RDE’s annual speaker conference programme,” said event manager Sarah Adams. “The speakers are all retail experts in their own right and have worked with an array of leading brands and retail technologies, bringing a wealth of expertise to share with delegates. Through this programme of conferences we are aiming to bring together knowledge, ideas and inspiration that will help retailers to implement innovative design strategies as they look to reposition their offering in an ever-changing world.”

Retail Design Expo is expected to attract cutting-edge exhibitors encompassing designers and

manufacturers, surfaces, materials and flooring companies, fixtures and fitting suppliers and shop-fitters. Delegates will be able attend inspiring talks, panel discussions, creative networking events and demonstrations alongside browsing exhibitors’ stands.

Together Retail Design Expo and its co-located shows RBTE and Retail Digital Signage Expo are expected to attract brands and retailers from around the world.
