News from RDE: FITCH design installation to be unveiled to mark the start of Retail Design Expo 2018

If there’s one thing true in design, it’s the desire to make an entrance – this year, Retail Design Expo (RDE) will be doing just that, thanks to a stunning entrance installation feature from leading retail and brand design consultancy, FITCH.

This is the first year that RDE has created a specially designed entrance to the show to separate it from its two co-located shows, RBTE and RDSE. Fitch, which was chosen as the design partner, will unveil the entrance on the first morning of the show.

Taking place at London’s Olympia on 2 and 3 May 2018, RDE is the key industry event for innovation and inspiration in retail design, marketing, branding, visual merchandising, architecture and shop fitting.  For 2018, Retail Design Expo has put together a show that is bigger and better than ever before, inspiring and delighting visitors design senses.

Renowned for bringing together seamless solutions that combine the physical, human and digital elements of a brand to create unique experience signatures, FITCH has led design projects for international retail brands including Adidas and Lego making it the perfect partner for RDE.  Its entrance installation at RDE seeks to bring together style and substance; whilst it will showcase the latest in design innovation and style, the installation will also communicate some of the topical issues currently facing the retail sector.

A first for the show, the partnership with FITCH reflects RDE’s commitment in championing the high standards of creativity and innovation being achieved in today’s retail design sector.

Tim Greenhalgh, Chairman and Chief Creative for FITCH, commented: “When RDE approached us to imagine a feature area that welcomes visitors to the show, we wanted to create something that would be visually arresting, impactful at scale, and immersive.  At the same time, we wanted to make a strong statement about the dynamic and fascinating nature of retail itself, which matched the progressive design concepts on show at the expo.”

Sarah Adams, Show Director of Retail Design Expo, said, “This is an exciting first for RDE – in partnering with FITCH to create the entrance installation, we wanted to set the tone for the show at the very outset.  It means visitors passing through the entrance space can build a sense of anticipation of what is to come and get a taste of some of the progressive design concepts that await them inside the show hall.”
