Consumers are treating themselves and their four-legged friends this Valentine’s Day
The day of love is no longer just about showering partners with gifts, but other loved ones too, with a quarter (22%) of Brits planning to buy their pet a gift and over one in ten planning on treating themselves this Valentine’s Day, according to a recent survey from digital experience analytics provider, Contentsquare.
The survey polled 1,000 UK consumers and discovered that for those who do plan on buying a gift, flowers are the top present of choice (30%), followed by jewellery (16%) and a physical experience such as tickets to a concert, a dinner out, or a trip to the spa (14%).
When it comes to where Brits will shop, this year, nearly a half (40%) of shoppers are most likely to make gift purchases from the comfort of their own sofa. Other popular digital gift-buying locations include the bed (27%) or from their desk during the workday (15%).
Commenting on the findings, Niki Hall, CMO at Contentsquare said: “Convenience and an easy buying experience continue to reign, as consumers lean on brands to guide them to the best products and value. It’s clear that when brands make browsing to buying as simple as a few clicks, they’ll drive conversions via a great customer experience, making this Valentine’s Day extra special and easy.”
