MARYLEBONE GIN TO LAUNCH POP-UP BAR ON THE PORTMAN ESTATE

The Portman Estate will add an experiential festive pop-up to the Marylebone area of London’s West End this December. Located on New Quebec Street, the Marylebone Pleasure Gardens inspired pop-up will open from 3 – 17 December and, along with selling bottles of the locally-distilled British spirit, will feature a gin bar and a programme of masterclasses and events.

The two-week pop-up will also collaborate with local restaurants and independent retailers on New Quebec Street, offering food pairings with Boxcar Butcher & Grill, The Grazing Goat and Daisy Green, and in-store promotions, encouraging visitors to combine a visit to the pop-up with Christmas shopping.

Johnny Neill, Founder of Marylebone Gin, says: “The Marylebone Gin brand is rooted in local history, taking inspiration from the legendary Marylebone Pleasure Gardens of the 18th Century, and therefore we’re thrilled to be opening our pop-up retail and leisure concept in one of the area’s special streets. Gin is a drink that can be enjoyed all year round, and we can’t think of a better way for people to celebrate the festive period than in our botanical wonderland.”

The programme of special events will shine a spotlight on Britain’s favourite spirit, including masterclasses that will educate guests on the history of gin, and cocktail techniques that can be recreated at home. Marylebone Gin has also partnered with Bloody Bens on a Bloody Mary Weekend Brunch.

Philip Norris, Head of Retail at The Portman Estate, says: “We have no doubt the unique expertiential offer of the Marylebone Gin pop-up will be a big hit this festive period. There is a real opportunity for independent retailers to work collaboratively to deliver an enhanced experience for customers, as well as creating a special sense of community. I hope we’ll see more of this trend throughout 2019.”

The Marylebone Gin pop-up will open at 15 New Quebec Street, W1H 7RT. Tickets to the masterclasses will cost £15 per person, and the Bloody Mary Brunch is £25 per person. For more information visit: www.portmanmarylebone.com
