London landmarks come to London Designer Outlet

London Designer Outlet (LDO) in Wembley Park celebrated its 5th birthday with a display of handmade giant cakes by famous food artist Prudence Staite. Taking 2,000 hours to create and weighing in at over 155 kg, the cakes included an edible scale model of LDO, slices from which were handed out to lucky shoppers yesterday. The remaining cakes will be on display until Friday evening and include giant cake replicas of London landmarks Big Ben, The London Eye and a five-foot-high red telephone box.

London’s leading fashion and lifestyle outlet is celebrating a consistently strong performance since opening and has produced 20 consecutive quarters of growth over the past five years. As the UK’s fastest growing outlet centre, LDO enjoys an annual footfall of 7 million, twice the number that go to Wembley Stadium and The SSE Arena each year, combined. Located within the wider Wembley Park, one of Europe’s largest urban regeneration projects, the district is undergoing a £3 billion redevelopment to create a new destination where retail, dining, leisure, entertainment, public events and world class entertainment converge.
