Lakeside Village shoppers have charity at heart

Donations from Lakeside Village shoppers raised almost £7000 for charities last year.

The money was donated at various onsite events and activities held at the shopping centre throughout the year.

This is in addition to the £15,000 worth of donations made to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and £1,500 raised to date for the centre’s charity of the year, DonMentia.

Di Rodgers, centre manager at Lakeside Village said: “When we added up the total money raised by shoppers at our centre for a range of charities local and national we were simply thrilled.

“We have a charity of the year which is nominated by our shoppers and voted for by stores and shoppers on site and we also work closely with other charities who visit the site to fundraise for their cause.

“This can range from pupils from Doncaster School for the Deaf signing Christmas Carols at the centre to Guide Dogs bringing their dogs along and raising money for a day.

“There are so many worthy causes and it is great to be able to support them in this way. Having them at the centre helps them to raise awareness of their charity and develop new supporters.

“We are looking forward to working out our programme of charitable days and events for 2020 and providing as much support as we can to help to raise vital funds for these charities.

“A huge thank you to our customers who have raised £6966.56 in 2019 for charities who have visited Lakeside Village.”

Located in the heart of Doncaster, Lakeside Village Shopping has over 45 famous name stores offering up to 60% off. With 920 free parking places the centre has a selection of places to enjoy a meal or drink, an indoor and outdoor play area for children and a series of special family events throughout the year.
