Kooomo launches Libiamo Wine’s new online store

British-based wine retailer bringing Italian wines to the UK launches new eCommerce site with enhanced performance and improved customer experience 

Libiamo Wines, the British brand known for its selection of high quality, award-winning Italian wines has launched its new online store with the support of eCommerce platform specialist Kooomo. The new site features a greatly improved customer experience (CX) thanks to some of the latest eCommerce technologies and third-party retail integrations.

The Libiamo brand was created in 2015 through an international partnership that shared a passion for great Italian wine and sociable drinking abroad, inspired by the famous toast in Verdi’s famous opera La Traviata: “Libiamo nei lieti calici!” (“Let’s drink from the joyful cups”). Kooomo was approached to migrate all its existing content and customers onto a new eCommerce site with improved user experience (UX) design and capabilities that reflected the authenticity of Italian wine-making culture.

“We worked closely with Libiamo to accelerate the site’s performance and improve each stage of the customer buying journey by adding a number of advanced eCommerce features. This will help to increase traffic and ensure wine sales can continue across multiple different retail channels,” said Ciaran Bollard, CEO at Kooomo.

Alan Rhode, co-founder at Libiamo Wines said: “The old Libiamo site was preventing us from expanding as much as we wanted; so, we turned to Kooomo as it offered the latest eCommerce plug-ins and technical enhancements that we needed to reach new customers and drive online sales. Kooomo also managed to migrate all our existing content from Shopify, including product listings and blogs without any problems.”

Alan continued: “The new site is running much faster than before and now includes all the latest eCommerce integrations for optimising orders and managing deliveries. Our goal is still to become the leading Italian online wine store in the United Kingdom and to start multi-channel activities linked to the online store.”

Ciaran added: “It was a great experience to work alongside Libiamo and ensure its site has all the latest eCommerce tools it needs to boost traffic and improve customer engagement. This will be the key to generate increased sales and ensure success going forward. We are also currently in the process of integrating new features such as a wine finder widget, an Amazon Marketplace integration, a reviews tool and a subscription program which will expand Libiamo’s customer community even more.”
