intu adds The Florist to its £180 million extension at intu Watford

New World Trading Company (NWTC), known for its iconic venues, has chosen to open its latest venture, The Florist, at intu’s transformational retail and leisure extension in Watford which opens later this year.

Signing up to 9,030 sq ft of space at intu Watford, The Florist offers deli, rotisserie and grills along with a selection of gluten free, dairy free and vegan dishes and floral cocktails inspired by one of the three main styles of floristry – English Summer Garden, Ikebana and Modern Contemporary. The Florist believes that charming the senses is the fundamental principle of floristry and so its vibrant menu and floral cocktails are set to deliver an all-new sensory experience to customers visiting intu Watford.

Chris Hill, chief exective officer, NWTC, said: “We’re really excited to be opening The Florist at intu Watford; the centre is already a vibrant retail destination and we’re looking forward to offering a new dining and drinking experience to this affluent catchment.”

Over two thirds of the retail and leisure extension at intu Watford is now let with Cineworld and Hollywood Bowl among leisure brands to have already signed up for space.

Rebecca Ryman, regional managing director, intu, said: “We’re delivering a fantastic retail and leisure mix at intu Watford by bringing in the best brands to provide more choice and appeal for our highly affluent customer base . When it opens later this year, the 400,000 sq ft  extension will deliver the most compelling of experiences for our customers with 14 new stores and 11 new restaurants and leisure activities. Combined, this will cement the centre as a day through to evening destination. The Florist offers a special dining experience for customers and is a great addition to the retail mix at intu Watford.”

The extension will create a 1.4 million sq ft retail and leisure destination, and is set to elevate the town alongside Edinburgh and Bristol in CACI’s top 20 national retail destinations ranking. Watford welcomes 38 million visitors to the high street every year and is also home to some of the UK’s largest head offices with companies such as ASOS and TK Maxx headquartered here as well as an award-winning Warner Bros Studio which is one of the most visited UK tourist attractions.
