Exclusive gift card market insights to be unveiled at UKGCVA Conference 2019: The Future is Now

The UK Gift Card and Voucher Association (UKGCVA) is offering businesses unparalleled insight into the future of the gift card and voucher industry at its flagship annual conference.

Taking place at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel in London on 6th and 7th March 2019, the event will bring together industry leaders, from around the globe, to discuss ongoing trends and developments within the
gift card industry.
And for the first time, the UKGCVA Conference,
in partnership with lead sponsor SVS, will take place over two full days, in what is anticipated to be the event’s biggest year yet.

Attendees will get exclusive preview access to the much-anticipated State of the Nation 2019 whitepaper, sponsored by FirstData, a benchmark report providing retailers with the latest consumer and business insight into the gift card and voucher industry.

Delegates, will also enjoy a number of new features at this year’s event, one of which is the Gift Card Lab, sponsored by Blackhawk Network. This new addition to the agenda will see back to back interactive sessions, covering subjects such as VAT and Legislation updates, Global markets, Corporate Social Responsibility, PR and Prepaid market innovations.

The conference will also see the instalment of a new, dedicated networking area and an online networking portal, sponsored by InComm,  providing delegates with the opportunity to pre-book meetings with other attendees, ahead of the event. A new app is also being launched so attendees can interact with one another and provide feedback throughout the two days.

As the gift card industry continues to thrive, the event will focus on the key factors influencing its growth via B2B & B2C channels. Panel discussions will explore various topics including whether the current B2B exponential growth is sustainable and how best to maximise consumer gift card sales.

Gail Cohen, director general of UKGCVA, said: “The gift card industry has continued to witness incredible growth over the past few years, even with the challenges faced by traditional retailers. The products available have become more diversified, offering consumers the choice to buy their favourite items, as well as the opportunity to shop at their preferred brands both in-store and digitally. The growing popularity of cashless high streets has also encouraged a preference towards gift cards and loyalty platforms. We’re looking forward to discussing these topics in depth.

“We are delighted to welcome back Stored Value Solutions (SVS) as lead sponsors but also thrilled to be partnering with so many key industry players, such as; InComm, Blackhawk Network, and FirstData and cannot wait to welcome everyone through the doors this year.”

Sarah Poynter, account director at SVS, lead sponsor of the event, said: “This annual event is rapidly becoming the go to forum for the gift card and voucher industry, so it is an absolute privilege to support the UKGCVA and its conference once again.”

Key note speakers include James Wallman, bestselling author, futurist and cultural commentator, who will share a mix of ancient wisdom and modern science, exploring the seven essential rules for working, living, and giving today. Also, CEO and president of Blackhawk Network, Talbott Roche – one of the most influential women in payments – will share her experience of presiding over some of the most significant changes in the industry, and offer a global perspective on the gift card industry today.

The event closes on day two with the return of UKGCVA’s Got Talent, which is now in its fourth year. This fun segment is an opportunity for UKGCVA members to share their new innovations – with three minutes each and against the clock. Attendees can listen to what’s new and exciting in the industry as members present live, vying for audience votes to win the best innovation.
