Eid Festival returned to Westfield London for its third year

The London Eid Festival celebrated the end of Ramadan at Westfield Square on 7th and 8th May

Last weekend saw Eid Festival return to Westfield London for its third year, as local communities came together to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

Last taking place on the 8th and 9th June 2019 – which holds the record for the busiest event held at Westfield London since the centre opened in 2008 – this year’s London Eid Festival took over the entire of Westfield London’s outdoor event space, Westfield Square, and welcomed thousands of families and friends to enjoy the live entertainment, family and children’s activities, food stalls and shopping stands.

The entertainment stage saw a range of local artists and groups perform to the crowds including Iqra school choir, Al Musafir Group, violinists and DJs.

Food and beverage retailers operating stalls at the festival included cuisines including Caribbean, Moroccan, Thai, Japanese, Afro-fusion, halal and more as visitors indulged in the wide range of offerings.

Local businesses in the area also engaged with the Eid celebrations to showcase their products including Nimah’s Arabic and Islamic jewellery and Vivien Kondor’s make-up. Visitors could also peruse and purchase the homeware, perfumes, organic foods, art and more on display from brands from across the world including the Middle East, Malaysia and the US.

In the UK alone, the Ramadan economy is worth over £400m and retailers are increasingly targeting this consumer market to engage with the thousands celebrating Eid.

The London Eid Festival 2022 was organised and managed by Algebra Consulting who are also responsible for some of the world’s biggest Muslim Consumer events and platforms such as London Muslim Shopping Festival, London Halal Food Festival & Modest Fashion Live. Gourmet Halal food brand Super Chick was the event sponsor.
