Domino’s launches Partners Foundation to support colleagues in need during COVID-19 pandemic and beyond

Domino Pizza Group today announces the launch of the Domino’s Partners Foundation to provide financial support to colleagues in need, as they continue to help the nation stay home during these unprecedented times.

Under UK government advice that food delivery companies should remain open, Domino’s teams have worked tirelessly to feed their local communities and play a part in boosting national morale as they continue to deliver pizza across the UK and Ireland. To show its thanks and support, Domino’s has announced the launch of the first UK & Ireland Domino’s Partners Foundation to support anyone within the business who is experiencing personal hardship, both through the Covid-19 outbreak and in the longer term.

The Foundation will initially be funded by a donation of £250,000 from Domino’s Pizza Group and will provide financial assistance to permanent colleagues of the group and its franchisees. The fund can be accessed by Domino’s colleagues in times of hardship or adversity; for instance, bereavement, exceptional medical needs or household emergencies. It will be overseen by a group of Trustees made up of franchisees and Domino’s colleagues.

To further bolster the fund, all Domino’s Board members, including CEO designate Dominic Paul and recently appointed Chairman, Matt Shattock, will donate 20% of their net salaries* for the next three months. Furthermore, Non-executive Director Usman Nabi has also pledged a contribution of £100,000 on behalf of Browning West LP. Many Domino’s Pizza Group colleagues also have expressed an interest in contributing to the Fund via payroll.

The Partners Foundation builds on the recent initiatives Domino’s is introducing in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Last week, to support frontline key worker groups, the business announced a £4 million ‘Pizza for Heroes’ giveaway over a month. From NHS and care workers to postal staff and the emergency services, Domino’s is making surprise donations across the UK as a small token of appreciation to those working tirelessly to keep the UK going through the Covid-19 pandemic.

The wellbeing of colleagues and customers is paramount for Domino’s in the current environment. The company is working closely with the government to support team member safety in their role as key workers, with steps such as such as Contact Free Delivery, stopping the collection service, ending cash handling and simplifying its menu.

Dominic Paul, Domino’s CEO designate, said: “Since arriving at Domino’s, I’ve been hugely impressed with the hard work and dedication of our colleagues. From pizza chefs and delivery drivers to the production, warehouse and distribution teams – everyone plays an important part in the national effort by feeding our communities and delivering Domino’s £4m pizza giveaway for key workers.  We’re proud to donate £250,000 to launch the Partners Foundation to help support our people through unexpected hardship during these challenging times and beyond.”

*  Individual donations will be paid from Directors’ salaries and fees after deduction of applicable tax and social security contributions.
