Bloomingdale’s 59th Street Holiday Windows

This year, the Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship holiday windows are inspired by the spirit and sentiment of our “Give Happy” campaign, incorporating its cheerful colours in a colour block design across 5 of the Lexington Avenue windows and an “entry window” that brings all the hues together in a neon mixture. Each window embodies one of the campaign colours and incorporates clever elevated displays composed of everyday objects. All the windows have video walls in the background to provide richer visuals, and the side walls of the windows are mirrored in the same color to give the effect of an infinity type glow. The displays communicate a simple message that brings a smile to the viewers’ faces at the close of a challenging year.

Window 1: “Give Good Cheer”

This multicolour vignette features the “Give Happy” holiday campaign logo in neon, along with cheerful neon blinking martini glasses and other neon images that greet customers as they enter the store. The video shows the holiday campaign’s multi-coloured imagery, forming a Christmas tree in lights with a neon star at the top.

Window 2: “Give Snuggles”

This window comprises all green displays, including a giant wreath made from green teddy bears that add an element of sparkle with rhinestones on their eyes and lights intertwined throughout. Viewers will also be treated to a multisensorial experience with the scent of evergreen emanating from the window.

Window 3: “Give Happy”

This orange colour-blocked window will bring a smile to the faces of little ones, with a larger than life orange glitter dog, surrounded by smaller dogs and neon dog bones.  Everyone loves a puppy and this one’s tail will be wagging as part of the video.

Window 4: “Give Love”

This red color blocked window design features classic holiday treats like peppermints and candy canes, as well as marquee hearts symbolizing the love Bloomingdale’s gives during the holiday season. One heart has a giant tongue licking peppermint on its tip. This window will give off a peppermint scent onto Lexington Avenue to immerse viewers in the holiday experience.

Window 5: “Give a Smile”

The all-yellow colour blocked window showcases a giant smiley face disco ball, inspiring happiness in all who see it. When it spins, it reveals a mannequin on the other side decked out in happy holiday fashion. The smiley disco ball was created by local New York City artist, Allison Eden, who also previously collaborated with Bloomingdale’s on a giant shoe and perfume bottle sculpture that is currently still on display in the 59th Street flagship.

Window 6: “Give Light”

This blue colour blocked window will center on a giant snowflake illuminated with twinkling lights. Mannequins wearing winter illuminated fashions are nestled into the spinning snowflake. The festive and magical scene also has Swarovski crystals hanging throughout the display, along with neon snowflakes and polar bears.
