Antalis responds to call for support from customer producing vital PPE for the NHS

With PPE reported to be in short supply for the country’s NHS and care staff, Antalis was only too happy to respond to a call for help from a customer who is putting their design and production know-how to use in producing protective face masks.

The request came from Faye McCallum, who is Creative Designer and Prop Maker for Middlesex-based Data Reprographics, after a family member asked her if she might be able to use her skills to make face masks. Faye, who is at home in self-isolation, began making a few masks in her dining room using off-cuts of material she had from work. After the first batch was delivered, requests for more masks followed. So, with production support from her family, friends and the Data Reprographics team – and with materials donated by Antalis and others – Faye has been able to rapidly scale up production and in just a few days has produced almost 2,000 masks for donation to hospitals across north and west London.

With more vital materials from Antalis – including Foamalite, a clear recycled PET and hook and loop systems – due for delivery, Faye, her family, and an army of willing volunteers made up of friends and contacts in the film industry, are geared up with their cutting mats, scalpels and glue guns ready to start producing a new batch of face masks.

JustGiving page has been set up to help Faye fund further production.
