News from RDE: 2018 POPAI Awards Announces Nominated Entries at RDE

Retail Design Expo will be announcing the nominees for the 2018 POPAI Awards, which seek to reward creativity, innovation and best practice in retail marketing, on the first day of the show (Wednesday 2nd May).

Now in their twelfth year, the POPAI Awards celebrate the role of retail marketing in all areas of shopper engagement and successful retailing. The awards are a showcase for retailers dedicated to achieving excellence in-store.

Perceived as a hallmark of excellence that provides the benchmark for success and the catalyst for continuous improvement, winning a POPAI Award is highly prized by industry clients and suppliers alike. Winners not only gain unparalleled recognition for their project on a national and potentially international platform but also raise the profile of your business amongst leading retail brands.

Judging took place throughout April by a distinguished panel of industry professionals who considered whether the entry met the brief and satisfied both brand objectives and shopper needs, how well it overcame practical in-store challenges and demonstrated original thinking, as well as how it performed in terms of retail impact, execution and relevance to its context. They also considered how well were brand and promotional messages were communicated and how it performed against key performance measures.

Nominated entries will be announced at Retail Design Expo on the 2nd May at 1.10pm in the Shopper Conference. All nominated entries will later receive a POPAI Award at the Awards dinner in October.

The main awards categories comprise of individual 16 categories for both permanent and temporary displays and include new categories for both Merchandising, Wholesale, Insights, and a new standalone category for 2018 – Innovation and Sustainability.

Gold winners from the above categories will be eligible for the Display of the Year award, chosen by judges and announced at the awards dinner.

One Gold Award is awarded in each category, and is reserved only for the most outstanding work that achieves true excellence.
