Creating over 450 new jobs, KidZania is an exciting and complementary addition to Westfield London’s leisure offer, which already includes the UK’s number one cinema Vue, over 50 places to eat and a state of the art Gymbox alongside its unique retail offer.

KidZania takes interactive entertainment and learning to an entirely new level by combining role-playing with real life. At Westfield London, it will provide children and their parents with a safe, creative and highly realistic educational environment that allows children between the ages of four and 14 to do what comes naturally to them: role-playing by mimicking grown-up jobs.

Westfield’s Director of Development, Duncan Bower said: “Westfield London is very excited to partner with KidZania for its first opening in the UK. The attraction is highly anticipated amongst our customers and in London generally. This exciting attraction adds a new dimension to our diverse retail, leisure and entertainment offer, providing a destinational family experience. Many of our customers, whether Londoners or tourists visit our centre for family leisure time and this opening is another great reason to visit Westfield London.

“The arrival of KidZania is also very positive news for employment and the local economy, creating 450 additional new jobs in the local area. We are entering an exciting time at Westfield London, as we invest in developing the centre further and the opening of KidZania is an integral part of that wider vision centred on food, fashion and entertainment.”

The launch of KidZania is the first of many upcoming exciting developments for Westfield London. Over the next few years the Westfield London centre will undergo a £1 billion expansion, creating 60,000 sq m of new retail space including a new flagship John Lewis store. In addition, new restaurants and entertainment facilities will be opening up and there will be over 1,500 new homes available in future phases. The expansion will deliver circa 8,000 new jobs for the area, as well as numerous local community benefits including infrastructure and public space.

Councillor Sue Macmillan, H&F Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Education, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome KidZania London to the borough and have no doubt it will be a huge success. I know many of our children will be excited to experience all that it has to offer.

“We will continue to work closely with Kidzania and Westfield London to make sure local people benefit from new jobs and education opportunities being created in H&F.”
