UK home furnishings maker to grow online wholesale and retail sales with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Sana Commerce

UK home furnishings manufacturer Jim Lawrence is preparing to grow its online wholesale and retail sales by adopting the Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP platform with an integrated e-commerce solution from Sana Commerce.

The maker of over 20,000 products each with five different finishes, already achieves half of its sales online but needed a new platform that could scale to meet its growth ambitions, also offering customers the opportunity to customise their orders.

With Jim Lawrence’s existing bespoke ERP and e-commerce solution reaching its limits it needed a new integrated technology stack that would grant it more control, greater design options and better security.Alongside integration, ease of use was also a key priority for Jim Lawrence’s choice of web store. It looked at multiple vendors including Sana and Magento, but eventually selected Sana due to its seamless ERP integration and simplicity.

Marta Dyer Smith, e-commerce manager at Jim Lawrence, said, “As a growing business we wanted to have a more powerful platform with more control. We did consider Magento but Sana was more cost-effective.”

Now Jim Lawrence’s web team is able to manage all web store content efficiently. Is it also seeing online sales conversion rates increase through improved online customer contact due to the Sana web store’s chat function letting the sales team connect with buyers through the site.

The new web store is also helping to speed up telephone orders. As Dyer Smith says, “Our sales team can process phone orders faster, as the clients have already looked up the necessary information online.”
