Trinity Leeds creates ultimate food destination

TRINITY LEEDS CREATES THE UK’S ULTIMATE FOOD DESTINATION

Trinity Kitchen will make authentic street food available all year round, whatever the weather

Trinity Leeds, the UK’s latest venue for retail, dining, leisure and entertainment, is set to add to its already bustling restaurant scene with the arrival of Trinity Kitchen, an innovative new take on eating out, opening in mid October.

Trinity Kitchen will combine street food vendors, pop-up market stalls and emerging high street food and drink brands in an indoor food market, bringing the British Street Food movement into the heart of Trinity Leeds.

Working with food journalist and the brains behind the British Street Food Awards, Richard Johnson, Trinity Kitchen will select five of the very best pop up festival food vans from across the UK on a monthly basis, offering food lovers something new each time they visit. From the freshest and tastiest Thai food, lifted straight from the streets of Thailand and served from converted tuk tuk BangWok, to Whitby crab linguine and Leeds chorizo served from local street food boat Greedy Bassets, the street food vans, trucks and trailers will be lifted up and into the first floor of Trinity Leeds every month.

Opening month will see local Leeds based company The Marvellous Tea Dance (serving tea and cakes in a vintage styled garden shed) join the likes of London’s most renowned hot dog trader, Big Apple Hotdogs, parking up alongside street food offerings including Gurmetti (a three-wheel Piaggio van selling traditional Italian foccacia and wraps) and award-winning Indian snack stall Manjit’s Kitchen.

The team behind Trinity Kitchen have also sought seven permanent high street food and drink brands to join the line up – Pho Cafe, Chicago Rib Shack, Circle Club Champagne Bar, Pizza Luxe, Tortilla, Chip + Fish and Notes – all of which are new to Leeds. For five of the seven permanent new additions, including Pho Cafe and Notes, it will be the first time they have served their food and drink outside of London.

What’s more, as an indoor food market, Trinity Kitchen will make authentic street food – along with live entertainment and events including jazz nights, cooking demos and wine and beer tastings – available to shoppers every day until late into the evening for the very first time, whatever the weather.

Trinity Kitchen will also feature a range of technology including a brand new, giant touch screen video wall showcasing food, music and games, in addition to iPads available to use to keep visitors up to date with news and offers.

Richard Johnson comments: “Street food is one of the most important British food trends in years and the launch of Trinity Kitchen is set to not only change the way we view food in a shopping environment, but also how we eat out in the UK. We know people want more choice, better quality and a great experience, so that’s why we’re bringing the best traders to Trinity Leeds, from across the UK, every month. From the coolest, quirkiest vans and trucks, to garden sheds and even boats – all serving the tastiest, freshest food – Trinity Kitchen is set to become the ultimate destination for food.”

Paul Smith, Marketing Manager for Trinity Leeds says, “Trinity Kitchen promises to give shoppers more than simply a place to refuel. With everything from live entertainment until late into the evening, to cooking demonstrations, tasting sessions and of course, tastes of street food from around the globe, Trinity Kitchen will be a buzzing social hub for shoppers and visitors to Leeds. With five new street food vendors driving into Trinity Kitchen every month, it will offer something different with every visit, allowing shoppers to enjoy new experiences time and time again.”

Trinity Kitchen will open on 17th October with a celebration of world food and festivities for food lovers and shoppers to enjoy.
