Trinity Leeds Comes Alight for Very First Time

Trinity Leeds has revealed its spectacular roof light display for the very first time. The sweeping glass dome roof that dominates the three-storey shopping quarter has been lit up by 918 low energy LED lights, bringing dazzling colour to Leeds city centre’s skyline.

The full colour spectrum LED bulbs were switched on to examine the lights capabilities and test the 40 settings that can be re-programmed to create different shapes and auroras for visitors to enjoy when late night shopping at Trinity Leeds, all year round.

Andrew Dudley, Trinity Leeds Development Director said, “Switching on the roof lights for the very first time and seeing the beaming spectrum of colours was magnificent. It lights the way for Trinity Leeds, which opens its doors on 21st March and is set to become the next generation of shopping centres, bringing leisure and lifestyle to the heart of the city.”

“By Christmas 2013, we predict that over 25 million shoppers will have walked through the doors of Trinity Leeds shopping centre and we hope to wow visitors with the sweeping dome roof which creates a dramatic space for over 100 new shops and 20 new restaurants, cafe and bars.”

Opening its doors on 21st March 2013, Trinity Leeds is innovatively designed to be an extension of Leeds’ best known outdoor shopping streets. The impressive dome roof is the work of the Eden Project designers, SKM Anthony Hunts and is the symbol of Trinity Leeds, uniting the bustling streets of Briggate, Commercial Street and Albion Street. Trinity Leeds will be constantly offering visitors something new with its giant interactive video walls, exciting range of shops, entertainment performances and art installations.

The development brings together over 100 national and international brands with more than 20 coming to the city for the very first time, including Superdry, Hollister, Mango, Fossil and the first Victoria’s Secret’s outside of London. Newer and larger flagship stores will be central to the development, with Leeds brand Marks and Spencer set to open a completely remodelled store which will show off the best of what it has to offer. Other flagship stores to the city will include Urban Outfitters and a three storey Primark.
