The Mall at Cribbs Causeway launches Bristol Jubilee Concert

The Mall at Cribbs Causeway has announced that it will host a benefit concert to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Saturday 2nd June.  Headlined by Pixie Lott and with an anticipated audience of 10,000, it is the latest addition to the centre ever-growing events programme.  Building on the business successes of its Christmas concert with Olly Murs in November 2011, the centre’s management team is seeking to drive footfall and sales, create a positive brand experience and support its CSR objectives.

The line up of Pixie Lott, and support acts X Factor Finalist Misha B, and local band, Young Kato has boosted weekend footfall as shoppers are attracted to The Mall to collect the 10,000 free tickets.  The Mall is hoping to raise over £10,000 for ‘a Life for a Cure’ in association with Meningitis UK, with the suggested voluntary donation of £1 per ticket.  A second trading opportunity is planned on June 2nd itself when the centre will extend its opening hours, allowing retailers to take full advantage of the predicted surge in footfall.

The event is the latest instalment in an enormously successful events programme that includes key Bristol attraction ‘The Winter Wonderland’ with the South West’s largest outdoor ice rink for eight weeks over festive period, the twice yearly Bristol Fashion Week – with 18 catwalk fashion shows over five days showcasing the new trends for the season that are available from retailers in The Mall – and the Bristol Motor Show.

Maria Crayton, Head of Marketing at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway comments:

“Developing and extending our innovative and exciting events programme is a key business objective as we seek to emphasise the social and leisure aspect of the shopping experience, and this is increasingly poignant as we face the stay-at-home, stay-on-line mentality.”
