Product and POS performance go hand-in-hand, at least for one piece of promotional packaging for Ballentine`s. The gift packaging for a whiskey bottle looks like a book and proved a fine read for the jury of the prestigious Starpack Awards. The star panel of representatives from the British Packaging Society awarded the solution a bronze in the category of “Luxury, Promotional and Giftware”.

“The jury had extra praise for the harmonious overall concept”, noted Paul Clarke, managing director of STI Line Ltd.. “After all, the extraordinary beverage packaging made its premiere – as befits a bestseller – at the world’s biggest book and media fair in Frankfurt!”

The high-quality gift packaging consists of a tray with a corrugated board pieces that have been folded inward, a classic book banderol to convey the nature of the product and a book spine to provide stability. Pallet displays made to look like bookshelves, stocked with 48 or 64 “books”, are used to extend the book concept even further. Cladding is applied to the base to ensure the necessary flexibility.
