Spring Fair International is named Best Tradeshow Exhibition

i2i Events Group is proud to announce that Spring Fair International was named Best Tradeshow Exhibition (above 2000m) at the annual Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO) Excellence Awards 2012, held in London at The Artillery Gardens at The HAC on Friday July 6.

The flagship ceremony for the live events and exhibition industry was attended by over 1,000 events industry professionals, all vying for the top slot in their respective categories. The AEO said that more entries were submitted this year than ever before.

The nomination focused on the fact that in order to create an entirely new destination department store model for Home and Gift, the team undertook a herculean task: re-editing and moving 3,000 exhibitors across 17 halls. The move followed 2 years’ consultation with the market and was done to put buyers’ needs and customer experience at the heart of the show, and drive value and growth for buyers and exhibitors alike.

Explaining their decision to give Spring Fair International their final seal of approval, the judges commented: “Very positive – impressively positive – change was delivered on a large scale event, coupled with resounding customer compliments”.

Spring Fair International beat off stiff competition from eight other great events to win the coveted Best Tradeshow Exhibition award, sponsored by international logistics firm Rogers Worldwide India. Other trade exhibitions that made it to the finals in this category including leading events  Marketing Week Live, DSEI and GSMA Mobile World Congress.

Speaking of the win, i2i Events Group Divisional Director for Spring Fair, Louise Young, said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Spring Fair has been given such a vote of confidence by the AEO judges and won this prestigious award. Spring Fair International, which takes place each year during the first week of February at The NEC, Birmingham, is a UK retail trade exhibition. An average of 3,000 exhibitors from 12 different market sectors participate in the event, where they launch around 300,000 new products to retailers from over a 100 countries worldwide. The next edition of the show will take place on February 3 – 7 2013.
