retailTRUST Announces Details of 63rd Annual Celebration
retailTRUST, the leading trade Charity for all involved in retail, is delighted to announce that the 63rd Annual Celebration will take place at the iconic Old Billingsgate on the banks of the river Thames this coming Thursday the 28th of January. Over nine hundred guests will join the biggest personalities in retail for a night to remember, whilst raising much needed funds to support their employees’ wellbeing.
The event is generously being sponsored by American Express, XPO Logistics and Dransfield Properties. The theme for the evening will be “London Calling” honouring the pivotal role this great city has played for more than fifty years and will continue to play, leading the world in both fashion and retail.
The entertainment will sparkle with TV favourite Dave Berry as host and sets from X Factor favourites Alien Uncovered, DJ Benny Blanco and funnyman Kev Orkian – back by universal popular demand after his blockbuster performance last year.
retailTRUST exists to “improve the well-being of all involved in retail” be they retired, still working or indeed seeking a career in the sector.
2015 was a year of some exceptional achievements for the Trust, including in the autumn the formal approval by the FCA/PRA of retailCURe; the first ever multiple private company sponsored credit union. The coming together of over 20 retailers to create it has been a wonderful demonstration of how the sector can pull together through retailTRUST to deliver for the common good.
2015 saw the creation of the NEETs programme retailRIGHT, which helped deliver over £500k of work placements in retail for the young and disadvantaged from humble backgrounds. In 2016 its reach will more than double with fabulous support from leading retailers including Clarks, House of Fraser, Dunelm and Matalan.
2015 also saw a 20% growth in the wellbeing services delivered through the retailHUB (helpline and counselling services) with more than 70,000 retail staff supported.
2016 will build on the achievements of the last year, expanding the scale and diversity of the genuine impact the work of the Trust has, to ensure we support the wellbeing of more employees, from more retailers than ever before.
